ABOUT US
On January 25, 2009, a
group of twelve people met at a private home in Pinnacle North
Carolina. The purpose was to determine if we should step out on our
own and start a new work in the area. This was brought about by some
unfortunate events where we were attending. However, the Lord is good
and He is in control...so we will move ahead day by day until we reach
our final destination.
After a service, we
shared a meal together and discussed our possibilities. It was
generally decided we would like to stay together if possible. We all
found that we each wanted much the same things in a church. Our main
goal or work should be to introduce Christ to as many as would
listen to our message. The main work of the church then, should be
evangelism. That included missions, both foreign and local.
We decided we would
meet every Monday night at one of our homes for a season of prayer and
fellowship. And, we would meet at someone's house on Wednesday for
Bible Study and more prayer. And we would meet on Sunday mornings for
a service to include prayer, singing of hymns, and a message from the Word.
In the next two
years, many events have taken place, and we have seen the Lord's hand move
and guide us in several steps of faith that we had to take. We moved
through two more meeting places, but they have been temporary ones to get us
to our present location. As the chain of events took place, He closed
one door and opened another, until He has brought us to our present home
place. We rejoice and praise Him for His leading, protection and
provision as we journey day by day.

We praise the Lord for
his provision of our new (to us) church home. We surely would be
thankful if you would consider joining us and helping us to fulfill our
mission as we journey on for Him.
One thing that will
make our church home an even better place...is when you come join us that
we may labor together for our Lord to make Him known to more people in our
community, and world-wide through the support of missionaries whom God has
called to minister in various places all over our globe. We truly want
to be able to say that "the sun never sets of the influence of Open
Door Baptist Church". Would you come and help us reach that worthy goal?
What a joy it is to come
to this place week after week and worship our Lord. We come together
to praise Him for His marvelous works toward us...to offer encouragement to
our brothers and sisters for the journey...sometimes we need healing from
the wounds of the enemy...sometimes we have slipped and need a gentle
reminder of the care of Our Great Shepherd. Sometimes we are
bone-tired from the stress of the labor...but a refreshing dip in the balm
of His Word is able to revive us. Sometimes, He has to pick us
up, dust us off, bind up some wounds, offer a word of caring instructions
and get us on our way once again. O what a Savior we serve! Do
you know Him? Do you want others to know Him? Would you come and
lend us a helping hand to reach our community for Him? It would be a
great encouragement to us!
